Nicole Orlans

Nicole Orlans

Director of Admissions, Advisory Board Member

Nicole has been working in the eating disorder field for over ten years. She was an individual and family therapist for children and teens in the inpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization levels of care for five years. She then transitioned to being an intake clinician and supervisor where she supported individuals and families during the admission process through guidance, evaluation, and determination of appropriate levels of care.

Nicole earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Colorado State University and a Master’s degree in Social work from The University of Denver. Nicole received certificates and specializations in at-risk youth and interpersonal trauma studies.

I believe that there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to treatment and recovery. I value authenticity, kindness, integrity, inclusivity, and love. I believe that each person has an immense amount of unique strengths and that each of us bring infinite value to this world. I am trained and experienced in FBT, CBT, DBT, ACT, and ERP and always strive to utilize a strengths based perspective.

Nicole transitioned to VERY with the hope of helping to fill the gap that exists in the outpatient eating disorder treatment community. Her roles on both the Founder Advisory Board as well as the Director of Admissions will be in supporting people from all walks of life to access evidence-based, high-quality care. She understands the bravery and courage it takes to seek help for oneself or for a loved one and is dedicated to making the process as simple, welcoming, and supportive as possible.
