A recovery coach helps you set and achieve recovery goals by providing encouragement, accountability, and practical strategies. A coach will help you navigate challenging moments, like grocery shopping, dining out, or simply facing the day-to-day struggles of recovery. Coaching offers you the chance to have the support of a compassionate partner who is there to walk hand in hand with you as you build a life free from disordered eating.
Coaching is not a replacement for therapy or nutritional care, but rather complements that work by helping you apply your treatment plan in real-life situations. It’s about bridging the gap between professional advice and your everyday experiences.
Recovery coaching can benefit anyone who is ready and willing to make meaningful changes in their relationship with food, body, or self. Whether you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed between therapy or dietitian appointments or need extra support to stay motivated, a recovery coach can help. Coaching is ideal for those newly recovering, transitioning out of higher-level care, or even those further along in recovery who need practical, hands-on guidance to navigate daily challenges. If you’re seeking consistent encouragement and tools to help you stay on track, recovery coaching can offer the support and guidance you seek to achieve your recovery goals.
Absolutely! Recovery coaching works in collaboration with your treatment team, supporting the plans set by your therapist or dietitian. Coaching provides the additional hands-on support you might need between appointments and helps you apply what you’ve learned.
Coaching sessions can be tailored to your needs. You can meet with your coach up to 30 minutes per week, with texting and emailing available between sessions. We are generally responsive during typical business hours (9 am – 5 pm Monday – Friday). Talk to your coach if you would like to schedule longer or more frequent sessions. The goal is to create a support system that fits your unique recovery journey.
Signing up for coaching is simple. Reach out to Emily directly (emily@very.health) or sign up through our RecoVERY Community.
You’ll start with a complimentary 15-minute discovery call, where you’ll discuss where you are in your recovery and your goals for coaching. From there, you and Emily will create a plan tailored to your needs.
